Intel will soon receive the first samples of components for Ponte Vecchio computing accelerators
For a long time, Intel management promoted Ponte Vecchio accelerators as the company’s first mass-produced 7nm products, but the delay in mastering this technology forced it to expand the participation of contractors in the production of corresponding components. Intel representatives admitted this week that the first silicon for the Ponte Vecchio will soon be released.

Since Raja Koduri was one of the inspiration behind the creation of Ponte Vecchio, during an online event on Intel’s website, he was given the honor to share the status of the development of this product for server use, formally belonging to the Xe-HPC family. Even the code designation for this accelerator was chosen by Raja Koduri with an eye to a presentation in Venice, which will allow him to enjoy local desserts.
