NVIDIA can’t keep up with demand for 7nm Ampere computing accelerators
The topic of the shortage of next-generation NVIDIA gaming graphics cards has not left the pages of news feeds, its representatives have touched on at recent events for investors, saying that it is necessary to wait a few more months to stabilize the supply situation. It turns out that in the segment of computing accelerators, NVIDIA also does not keep up with demand.

In the server segment, representatives of the Ampere architecture made their debut earlier than in the gaming segment – back in mid-May this year. TSMC should release the A100 processors using 7nm technology, while the Ampere architecture graphics processors presented later will be released using 8nm technology by Samsung Electronics.
It is generally accepted that it is Samsung’s technological problems that limit NVIDIA’s ability to timely increase shipments of Ampere gaming GPUs. At the TMT conference last week, Ian Buck, VP of NVIDIA, who is in charge of computing acceleration products business, spoke to him about the balance of supply and demand in the corresponding segment.
